» Moses Cone Memorial Park – Historic Cone Manor House and 25 miles of gently graded horse, hiking, and cross-country skiing trails at milepost 294 on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
» Bass Lake – Picturesque setting for walking. Located on the lower level and approached by car from Hwy 221.
» Julian Price Memorial Park – 4,344 acres of camp grounds, picnic area, fishing, boat rentals, and trails at milepost 297 on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
» Linville Falls and Gorge – 90 ft. falls with the deepest gorge east of the Grand Canyon at milepost 316 on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
